LOUIS VUITTON RETURNS TO ITS ROOTS
Live Beautifully
A New Chapter on Worth Avenue

The iconic Louis Vuitton brand is set to make a highly anticipated return to its original neighborhood on Worth Avenue in Palm Beach. The new store, located at 222 Worth Ave., will mark a significant milestone in the brand’s history, bringing the celebrated fashion house back to the block where it first made its Palm Beach debut more than 40 years ago. This relocation, just a block west from its previous address in The Esplanade at 150 Worth Ave., is a homecoming that honors the brand's longstanding presence on this legendary luxury shopping street.
The building housing the new Louis Vuitton store has a fasci- nating history of its own. Designed in 1945 by architect Raymond Plockelman, it was initially built as a single-story structure, with a second floor added in 1952 to serve as a residence. Over the years, the building has seen multiple renovations, most notably for the luxury brand Escada in the late 1990s. Now, it’s set for another transformation as Louis Vuitton takes over the space, continuing its legacy of luxury.
According to Ludovica Douglas from Atmosphere Design Group, the building will undergo modifications to bring it closer to its historically neoclassical design. The renovation plans include the removal of an arched window and a residential window, both of which will be replaced with a pilaster and a window that aligns more harmoniously with the building’s architectural roots. These updates will maintain the elegance of the original design while accommodating the modern needs of Louis Vuitton’s luxury offerings.
This new location on Worth Avenue not only symbolizes the brand’s rich history in Palm Beach but also reaffirms its commitment to the local luxury market. With the store now standing on the same block as its original 251 Worth Ave. address, Louis Vuitton is set to blend past and present seamlessly, offering its clientele a shopping experience steeped in both history and modern elegance.
