The Cherry Whiskey Sour

We all know and love the classic Whiskey Sour. But sometimes, you want to take a familiar favorite and give it a little twist. That's where the Cherry Whiskey Sour comes in! This delicious cocktail combines the rich smokiness of rye whiskey with the tart sweetness of cherries, making for a drink that's both refreshing and complex.


This recipe from Locke & Co. Distilling uses their Aspen Aged Rye Whiskey, but any good rye whiskey will do. The addition of cherry juice and a touch of egg white gives the drink a beautiful pink hue and a luxuriously frothy texture.

  • INGREDIENTS

    • 2 oz rye whiskey (such as Locke + Co. Aspen Aged Rye)
    • 3/4 oz lemon juice
    • 1/2 oz cherry juice
    • 3/4 oz simple syrup
    • 1 egg white (optional)
    • Maraschino cherry, for garnish
  • INSTRUCTIONS

    • Combine all ingredients (except garnish) in a shaker with ice.
    • Shake vigorously for 15 seconds.
    • Strain into a coupe glass.
    • Garnish with a maraschino cherry.
